Vegetable ( legum plant )
Also called the lima bean or the “Bean of Lima” after the city where the Spanish discovered it for the first time. Adopted by navigators for its nutritional qualities, its ability to be transported and cooked, this bean was then popularized in Florida, ending its journey in the Caribbean and Europe by following the Native American trade routes.
