Super Food

Native to the Andes, maca was initially grown for its nutritional value. It was consumed as a fresh tuber, like sweet potato, but also dried for preservation. Maca powder is consumed in oatmeal, pancakes or sweet creams, and has a very high commercial value. Today, Peruvians in the Highlands eat 1 lb (500 gr), on average, of maca per day.
