Blackcurrant
Fruit ( berry )
Blackcurrant is part of the gooseberry family. Black in color, it comes from the blackcurrant bush, a plant native to Northern Europe. The blackcurrant’s culture is mainly found in Europe (Russia, Poland, Great Britain, and France). Blackcurrants are covered with a thin, translucent skin similar to that of grapes. Their flesh is juicy, and contains small seeds. The taste is sour.
